DM7908 Week 2.1 – Initial Documents

This past week has been a particularly productive one for planning this project. I have been able to establish a client who is smooth, E-retail business could profit from the research outcomes of my proposal and final major project.

The client is a small e-retailer called Edwards of England, who trade under the name “Blossom & Easel,” and they specialise in selling products that feature artwork and designs by young, budding artists. My contact at Edwards of England is the company’s Founding Director, Christopher Johnson.

On Friday I attended a meeting with Christopher to ascertain the level of involvement he would like in my project. He was pleased to be involved and preferred to be updated when visual designs, prototypes, and interesting pieces of research were available. For this reason I intend to show him the outcomes of my early sketches and wireframes, as well as each stage of the prototyping process (Low-fidelity, medium-fidelity, and high fidelity).

This week I have also continued with my literature review, specifically focusing on how augmented reality technologies have been researched and used to address consumers with a high need for touch. I have summarised the outcomes of this literature review in the below slides and document:

Please note that I may continue to build upon this body of knowledge and update my literature review as the project continues and I begin study at PhD level.

Following feedback from previous module submissions, I intend to keep my blog posts more concise and within the mandatory word count limit, so I have uploaded a keynote presentation of my client research to ISSUU. The presentation addresses the client’s business details, key products, and an analysis of their online presence, which can be accessed here:
